Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address and the display name you choose, to create and sign you into your account.
• Health & fitness data — with your permission, Ascend reads data from Apple Health (HealthKit), such as steps, active energy, distance, and heart rate, to show your dashboard and trends. When you record a walk or run, we also save that workout — including its GPS route — back to Apple Health.
• Workout & activity data — the workouts you record and your daily step goal, stored in your account so they're there when you sign in.
• Location data — for outdoor workouts, we use your precise location (including in the background while a workout runs) to map your route and show local weather. Location is used only during active workouts.
• Subscription information — if you subscribe to Ascend Pro, Apple processes the purchase through the App Store. We receive confirmation that your subscription is active; we never see or store your card details.
• Technical data — limited information such as timestamps and error reports, needed to operate and secure the app.

Your Apple Health data

Health data accessed through HealthKit is used only to power features inside Ascend — your dashboard, trends, and workouts.

How we use your information

• To provide the app — show your steps, trends, and workouts, and save your progress.
• To sync your account data (goal, workouts) so it follows you across sessions.
• To enable and maintain your Ascend Pro subscription.
• To secure the app, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
• To respond when you contact us for support.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

We share data only with the providers that help us run the app, and only as needed:

Each provider processes data under its own policy: Apple, Firebase, Vercel.

Data retention

We keep your account information and workout data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual workouts in the app at any time, and you can delete your entire account from within the app. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile and workout data from our database and delete your sign-in credentials. Data Ascend has written to Apple Health stays in Apple Health under your control — you can remove it in the Health app.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can delete your data and account directly in the app, or email us at thehomeworkappios@gmail.com and we'll respond as required by law. We do not sell personal information, so there is no sale to opt out of.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, authenticated access, and server-side authorization rules that limit each account to its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these international transfers.

Children

Ascend is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes & contact
